Diabetics at Whataburger

Diabetics need to be a bit cautious while dining at Whataburger. Almost every burger is rich in sodium content and it is highly recommended to keep your burger cravings in control while dining at Whataburger. However, you can always satisfy your cravings for a burger by choosing Whataburger Jr. or other non-burger items from the menu.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for Diabetics:

A diabetic should resist from ordering any extra meat-based burger such as Double Meat Whataburger or Triple Meat Whataburger to limit the sodium intake and calories. Most burgers except the Whataburger Jr. are high in sodium and hence should be avoided.

If you are a diabetic, you should also avoid Honey BBQ Chicken Strip Sandwich and Whataburger Patty Melt at Whataburger. Chicken Fajita Taco is also off-limits for diabetics. You must also avoid Breakfast Platter and Pancake Platter from the menu. Pancakes and Cinnamon Roll from the breakfast menu are also off-limits for diabetics.

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Tried the summer burger here. It was a pulled pork with coleslaw burger which was quite nice. Dined in which is the best decision because if you tried to take this burger away it would have been soggy. The bread was very nice and soft and after asking for and adding hot sauce the burger was good as well. Loved the decor and he concept of this place. Would have liked the burger to have a bit more flavour but otherwise quite good. Staff were nice and helpful with suggestions.

Good location in the downtown Silver Spring area. The burgers are a bit small but they're done well. Much better than some of the well-known chains in the area. The hot dog is pretty good but a bit overpriced in my opinion. The atmosphere is cool and the service is not too bad. The

Delicious burgers. Definitely can tell you're eating a more quality burger. Great Chili Cheese fries and onion rings. Definitely worth a visit! Just a long wait, but I guess they make it from scratch.. maybe. Could be better here.

The food was very good. The burgers were cooked just right and the toppings options are exceptional. The fries and onion rings are really good. Be warned, the large order of onion rings is REALLY BIG! I would have liked more condiment options. The only reason I gave them four stars, instead of five was the wait time and lack of efficiency at the counter. There are multiple cash registers, but only one was being used with a large line waiting. Second, compared to other burger places (Elevation Burger and Five Guys), the wait was way too long. This was a late lunch (2pm) on a Sunday afternoon. The store was not particularly full, so I was really surprised at the wait. I cannot imagine what happens during the workday lunch rush. I would go there again, but if I see a line of more than 3 people at the counter, I will most likely choose to eat someplace else if I am pressed for time. Please work on the wait times at the counter and with the food preparation. We really like the food.

My new favorite burger place! I don't really understand the negative reviews this place has. Sure it's a little pricey, but you get what you pay for and the quality here is great. And sure the burger patties are a bit thin, but that's why you have the option of customizing and adding however many patties you want! I ordered the BurgerFi cheeseburger and added grilled onions and grilled mushrooms. I also got a side of the cry + fry (onion rings and fries combo) with their parmesan herb topping. The burger was heavenly! I can honestly say I enjoyed every single bite of it. The fries were good, but tasted slightly dry and were soggy for the most part. The topping was more parmesany than herby so there wasn't a good balance of flavors. It hardly mattered though because the burger made up for it. Oh yea the onion rings are perfect too! I will probably just order onion rings next time and skip the fries. The restaurant is very clean and organized and the service was was extremely friendly. I highly recommend this place to any burger eater!! (I hear their veggie burger is pretty great too!)

Two star dining experience for us. I would say that I've had better meals at Five Guys, but frankly I've had better meals from a lot of places. Here's my experience: - We called in an order for four burgers and two large orders of fries. They got the order wrong and made me a single when I had asked for a double. - The missing burger is a real shame, because these burgers are tiny. The patty had good flavor and was well cooked but it is a small burger by take out standards. - I think they get a kickback from the ketchup company. They put it on both sides of the burger and thick enough that it was running out and soaking in to the roll. - The fries were fine, nothing to get excited about. Again, I've had better, I've had worse but at the price they charge I was hoping for something special. In summation, I wouldn't happily go there again. I feel like I can get a bigger, better burger at Five Guys for less money.

Burgers are nothing like their photo. Not giving Shake Shake a run for their money. Not even close. Tried the vegetarian burger, which is like fried mashed vegetables. Not bad, but not remotely burger like. Had it with the (overcooked) fried egg and aioli, at the recommendation of the cashier. Fries were greasy and soggy. Onion rings were greasy and tasteless. This is only good if you are comparing it to a lower-end fast food joint. I mean it's heaven compared to Burger King. Or is it?

If you are having a burger and fries craving and want to support a environmentally conscious establishment, Burger Fi is a good choice. The burgers are a similar size to the ones you would find at Five Guys or Shake Shack, not too big and relatively small. We had gotten their special 1/2 quinoa + 1/2 burger option listed on their paper menu. This quinoa burger was surprisingly good. Next time I would order one of each for two people to share. Burgerfi offers creative ways on how you want to do your burger and fries off their menu. We asked for the extra crispy fry option but the fries did not come out especially crispy. Some were still soft. The interior was nice and clean, and a good place to have a good conversation because there was no noisy television or loud background music which I appreciated. There were also large table for big groups. I had the custard in a cup and was told there was unlimited toppings. I ordered the strawberries and bananas. I was disappointed that it was actually strawberry in syrup rather than fresh cut strawberries like the banana. The natural deliciousness of the custard was masked by the overly sweet strawberry in syrup. For a special burger, special fries, and a custard it cost $20. So not the cheapest place, but also they delivered slightly higher quality and flexible choices (such as offering lettuce buns and quinoa burgers). I would skip the special fries because I don't think the extra costs for Parmesan and parsley and limited drizzle of garlic aoli was worth another $2+. However, I do like the nice inviting environment so I can see myself coming back to satisfy my burger cravings.

Vegeti Quinoa Burger (3/5 NOMs) Vegetarians love burgers too, first bite in you can taste an amazing flavor of this quinoa veggie patty. That could be one of the better tasting non meat burgers. It doesn't need toppings or sauce for extra flavor. Its just right! Served on a nice rye buns that can hold together anything and yet be so soft and light. Got to say not an overly attractive quinoa burger, but it taste better then it looks. The only thing that could have made it better is going double the quinoa patty. With so much great flavors, there was just not enough to satisfy our hunger. Go double or nothing! We sure will next time we fancy some vegetarian healthy option. Breakfast All Day Burger $8 (4/5 NOMs) Only thing better then breakfast is breakfast burger. Get ready to unhinge your jaw to bite into this tower of burger goodness. Burger that can beat any breakfast place with amazing combination of american cheese, bacon, maple syrup, fried egg, grilled onions and hash browns. Each bite will get you an explosion of flavors. Pretty much anything that is breakfast is packed inside. Bread buns were excellent, very light and soft with slight sweet flavor. Almost like there was a little bit of sugar spindled on top. With so much going on, you would think some flavors would get overpowered, but no, with every bite you could taste each yummy thing. One messy burger, each bite might just result in messy all over. You jus have to try it. Crispy Onion Rings $6 (4/5 NOMs) Put a ring on it! No burger can go without some onion rings and these are perfect nomnom. Order up this enormous larger then life rings. Some of them are as big as my head, and trust me one size does not fit all here. Crispy lightly breaded on the outside and soft on the inside. They didn't taste oily at all which made them even better. You get so much with your order that even a hungry nomster like me can barely finish. Make sure to bring a friend to share these goodies

BurgerFi.....has done it again! This place is my "go-to" spot for a good burger and quick service when in Silver Spring. I am happy to report and update my review to 5 Stars! I am updating my review with an extra (+1) star, for the mere fact of consistency. The service continues to be top-notch and the food....has been consistently.....AWESOME!! In my famous Yelp words....BurgerFi is certified...."Hittin' N Stickin'!" I normally order my favorite....the "Breakfast All Day Burger"...but this time around I decided to try the "BurgerFi Cheeseburger!" It did not disappoint. It was juicy, hot, oozing with cheese and cooked to perfection. I could not ask for a more "flawless" burger which arrived with your standard toppings: lettuce, tomato and American cheese plus their "BurgerFi sauce." The burger stacked with really fresh toppings; along with the a perfectly toasted grilled bun...took me there! Nirvana!!...Happy...happy! Joy...joy! I was definitely was ready to tap out. To be honest, it sorta was on par and reminded me with that of the standard In-n-Out burger....and that says a lot because I love a good ol' hot In-n-Out Burger. In all eminence, BurgerFi continues to be a winner in my book!

The cheeseburger hit the spot and had near perfect ratios of toppings. The Parmesan fries were addictive. And they have Barqs. The dude at the counter couldn't have been nicer. This is my new favorite burger spot.

Very cool sleek modern burger place. Came here with a few friends since someone was craving a burger. We ordered 2 summer specials and a custom single with a large side of Cajun fries and onion rings to share. I believe the standard burgers made here are all made with Angus beef patties. The fountain drinks are supplied by the customizable coca-cola flavor sodas. The summer special (*limited time) has cole slaw, pulled pork, and a double patty with cheese. It was a good solid burger, the patties are on the thin side like shake shake(recommend 2 patties!), but it was cooked well. The bun has a cool burgerfi logo that seemed stamped but nothing else about the bun stood out. The fries are good not great. The onion rings are HUGE, makes it kind of hard to eat. Overall I will come back again but not that often as it is pretty pricey for a burger even though it is angus.

  • Tom M.

Two of us waited 30 minutes for a $30 meal that consisted of 2 extremely well-done burgers that were small enough to be sliders, an order (read: 5) unseasoned onion rings, an equally small and equally tasteless order of fries, and 2 fountain sodas. Realistically, this is probably a 2-star place, but with all the 5-star reviews (which I assume have to be exaggerated, or else we came on the worst night in this restaurant's existence), I needed to at least attempt to bring the average down to what it actually should be. In short: Overpriced, overcooked, small portions, long wait, no flavor. Try Fuddruckers.

For fast food burger chain, BURGERFI is soooo good. Addictive even. The burgers are also a good size. What I like most about this place is the fact that one they have whole wheat buns, two you can add yummy toppings like mushrooms and jalepeños, and the beef is good quality! The Burgerfi sauce is delicious. The fries are also a great serving especially for the regular- big enough for two people! Get the parmesan herb fries. Can be a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. Much better than Five guys, better than Shake shack too but I think I would still prefer Kraze Burgers over Burgerfi.

Best burger joint around!! These burgers are real thick and juicy and excellent quality. I don't understand the negative reviews and people whining about the prices, these people clearly wanna pay McDonald's prices for great quality burgers. Believe me, you get what you pay for. Don't forget to ask for burgerfi sauce! Absolutely love this place!!

Not terribly busy on a weeknight, the BurgerFi is located right next to the street level lobby of the Courtyard Hotel. Therefore, easy to find with a number of tables outside and inside. A friendly counter person helped me as I was not familiar with their menu. I went easy and chose the "BurgerFi Cheeseburger" which arrived with lettuce, tomato and American cheese plus some "BurgerFi sauce." It quite nicely cooked and held together well. It tasted very similar to the West Coast "In-N-Out" product. Yes, I know: That's heresy. I also chose to have an order of onion rings. These turned out to be massive - each a slice close to an inch thick in a good batter. When hot, they were great. As they cooled to room temperature, not so great. They have a good selection of locally brewed bottled beers and there is a Coke Freestyle machine.

Visited BurgerFi today for the first time with a few out of town guests. We were pleased with the service, the ambiance was cool, and the burgers were good. I got a mushroom, bacon burger off of their secret menu (see their website to access this....kind of a copy of In and Out Burger...). It was definitely a fresh burger and the bacon was extra crispy (my favorite...). The hubby got a classic burger and some french fries and onion rings- you can get half and half which really pleased his indecisive heart. Both were fresh, crispy, and yummy. Our friends got the Breakfast All Day burger (fried egg, maple syrup, crispy hash browns, and sautéed onions) and a grilled cheese. The grilled cheese was underwhelming- but admittedly not what they specialize in. The Breakfast burger was a hit with our friend- he really enjoyed it. After our meal the rest of my group tried out the custard and were thoroughly impressed. They have chocolate and vanilla custard and a ton of different toppings. They also do concretes and shakes that looked great. They used fresh fruit for the shakes, which was a plus for my friend that ordered the strawberry shake. We thought the price was a little much for what we got in terms of food, but were overall impressed with the freshness and quality of what we got.

I really liked this place! And I knew that I would. I first came across a BurgerFi in Philly and was very anxious to try it out. I ordered the supreme burger and shared some fries with a friend. The burger was good and juicy. The fries were awesome with seasoning salt, onions and garlic and cheese. My friends had shakes, and if you didn't know: if the shake drops out if you tip it over, it's not a real shake. Besides the food, the service was okay. Nothing spectacular. The service was quick and the place was clean for a round the way burger joint.

A burger SO durn good, they burn their name into the mofo. Haha. This is my first time at burger fi and all I knew was I wanted a burger, a good one and a decent environment to sit and turn a few pages in this book I'm reading. I got that. Upon walking in I was thrown because I honestly expected a more traditional restaurant style based on the great reviews of service, but now I see they're just really sweet behind the counter. The cashier could tell I was a virgin and walked me thru the menu. The first thing that caught my eye was the Breakfast all day burger and bet your bottom damned dollar they have made a fan out of me for just figuring out how to put maple syrup and ketchup together on bread &having me feel like I've eaten a culinary triumph, the likes of which Wolfgang has never seen! Ha. Smh...a thick Patty, gooey American cheese, a fried egg, crispy bacon, onion, syrup, ketchup LOL my goodness.... just satisfying on so many levels. I accompanied that BAD burger with the cry and fries. Which are quite simply put just really big a** onion rings and a helluva lot of fries. I got them with parm & herb seasoning and while the fries are very good, the rings are JUST immaculate. Perfect crunch, not too much breading, onion isn't all withered and over cooked and were just greasy enough to let you know you were being bad. Until you Look up at the columns that tell you how smart you are for choosing a place that has all natural everything & you're even eating at a recycled wood table ... ipso facto, you're ACTUALLY saving the planet & nOt a fatty! Hooray! Yes, come here. Yes, come Often. I will definitely be back. 5/5 noms

I was trying to come up with something positive about the food because I don't like giving 1 star ratings but obviously, I couldn't. BurgerFi is ridiculously overpriced. I ordered a single patty Supreme burger, fries, and a soda. My tab was almost $15. For that price, I could've had a huge and delicious burger at several nearby places. Even Fuddrucker's makes a better burger! The only thing supreme about the burger was the price. It was a single patty with cheese, bacon, and mushrooms for $7. The cashier did not ask how I wanted it cooked or if I wanted any other toppings, and I forgot to ask too. The result was an overcooked, dry burger that was the size of a McDonald's patty. I paid almost $1 extra for parmesan herb on my fries. The smallest size is a huge portion, Five Guys style, which was weird to me considering how tiny the burger was. I don't understand how the fries could be so bland even with parmesan topping. Worse, the fries were lukwarm so one can deduce they are kept under a lamp instead of being made to order. Even the sodas were stupid expensive! Mexican Coke is marked up to $2.77- it's usually on sale at Giant for $1. No way I'll be coming back here.

Take Red Robin, smash into a tiny store the size of a Five Guys, throw in a branding iron* and offer up a huge variety of choice that will make late night dining deliciously confusing. I say "deliciously confusing" because when you see the menu your brain risks blue screening from all the choices. Take some time and look over the menu before ordering. Trust me. Start with the standard issue burger joint options - burgers, fries, onion rings, hot dogs - then customize them, tweak them and make them your own with a massive list of options and toppings. That's BurgerFi. Ever wanted to have breakfast, lunch and dinner all at the same time? BurgerFi's "Breakfast All Day" burger is the answer to that question. Burger, onions, fried egg, hash brown, cheese all crammed between the confines of a bun. Seriously tasty burger loaded to the gills with toppings that oozed from the sides like Mount Vesuvius erupting condiments. I made a huge mistake (or win) in getting their onion rings. I say "mistake" because these onion rings were so large Neil Degrasse Tyson could have confused them for the rings of Saturn. The onion rings felt like they were twice the size of the burger! I customized the rings with Parmesan and herb and, yeah... mindblowing! Easily the best onion rings I've had. My friends got the standard BurgerFi burger and were pretty satisfied with it (not great, but pretty solid through and through). It's really when you get into customization that BurgerFi starts to shine. * Yes, branding iron! Because BurgerFi brands their logo onto the bun! It's exceptionally useless, yet memorable.

I'm not in the habit of writing bad reviews. My experience was so bad that I have no choice but to write what happened. First and foremost, I love food. This was the absolute, hands down, worst burger I've ever had in my life. I paid $19.57 for a burger, chili cheese fries and soda. I ordered the "aged ground brisket" burger and it had absolutely no flavor. All of the flavor came from the lettuce that was stuffed in the burger. Try and picture this... Cold watery lettuce flavor mixed with a consistency of the hot grease seeping out of a pair of oddly, beach sand, colored beef patties. It's possible that I didn't get the "aged brisket" but rather some regular patties.... There's an idea. There is no way that "stuff" was ever pre-seasoned. If it was, I'm going vegan. For some reason both patties were cooked differently. One was more on the well done side and the other was medium, really don't know what happened there. Bread was just bread and Swiss cheese was just cheese. All of that and haven't gotten to the fries.... Chili cheese fries. How can you mess that up? Chili, cheese whiz, fried potatoes. Cheese whiz is just that (fine) but the chili tasted close to what you get from the dispenser of brown stuff at 7 eleven. The fries themselves... Some were good, others were half cooked. Thank god the soda is dispensed from a machine. Let me add here that I got this order after they messed up my first order. I got bleu cheese on the burger when I asked for it to be removed and got cheese fries without chili. The receipt stated clearly what the order was supposed to be. This entire process... From when I ordered to when I got the (supposed) right order, it was maybe 25 minutes. In the end, if you want to roll the dice... Good luck. I walked down the street to Chik-Fil-A in order to find a sure thing to eat.

Yum! We stopped in here over the weekend for a late night bite. I went with a basic burger - a single with cheese and a bunch of normal toppings like lettuce and tomato. I also got a large onion ring for three of us to share. While we were all waiting for our meals, my gloated that we had evidently gotten the last order of onion rings, and I was a little sad for the guy behind us and simultaneously wondered how the heck you could run out. Did they run out of onions?? Well, anyways, my buzzer buzzes, I look up to get my food, and staring at me from across the room is a glorious tower of massive, gargantuan onion rings! Seriously, these suckers were the diameter of a small planetoid! Next to them, my single burger looked teeny-weeny. So enough about the looks...everything tasted great! I enjoyed my burger, and if I had been hungrier I would have appreciated the bigger, more deluxe burger choices on the menu. And the onion rings? Stellar! I was highly impressed. The only thing that stops me from giving BurgerFi five stars is the price. It's pretty spendy for a little burger joint.

I ordered the double meat with egg and barbecue sauce and a peanut butter milkshake. The burger was small and there were hardly any barbecue sauce on it. The burger was no memorable. I actually prefer Wendy Baconator over this burger. The shake was pretty small for the cost of it, but it was good..Nothing spectacular though. The decor of the place was nice...industrial and there's an outdoor patio to sit. Overall, the food is way over priced and the burger is not that good (no bad, but no good, especially for the price)

Roach Trap!!! I have never written a review before. In fact, I downloaded the yelp app just to write this review because of my disgusting experience. Only two words can describe my experience here: Roach Trap My friend and I sat down at one of the high tables near the window/front door. My bag fell off the chair and when I went to pick up my bag, a sticky roach trap was stuck to my bag! I understand that pests can be common in food establishments, but why on earth do you think it's ok, sanitary, or good business to put roach traps under tables where people eat?!?! One of the most, if not the most, disgusting restaurant experiences of my life. I will NEVER return, to any BurgerFi, and I hope this post encourages BurgerFi to rethink the way they deal with pest issues.

Reminds me lot of Shake Shack. The food is somewhat costly but is of high quality. The burgers themselves are juicy and there's an ample selection of condiments. It's a shame they charge you quite a bit for "premium" condiments and bacon. The fries are extremely delicious and the portions are great. You don't get as much bang for your buck as you do with Z Burger or Five Guys, but it'll do if you're in the Silver Spring area and don't want to travel far.

Fast, friendly, and delicious. Seriously the best veggie burger I have ever eaten. My tummy is in happy dance mode.

I never thought I would be so happy to pay a little more for a hamburger! The breakfast one is my favorite with egg, syrup and hash browns on the burger. Great atmosphere, modern and trendy but not off putting. The staff was extremely friendly and the bathrooms were very clean. Nice patio area and great location in DTSS!

My first ever visit to BurgerFi! So I've heard about this chain for a while.. And thankfully since this location is just below the Courtyard Marriott hotel I was staying, I needed something filling after my long flight and ride on the metro. I was hungry AF. So upon entering this place is really slick with the metal and wood decor. I asked the girl at the front "what's good here"? And she said everyone usually gets the BurgerFi cheeseburger. I guess for that price $6.77 with two burger patties it's a deal compared to the Breakfast All Day Burger ($7.57 with a single patty) that I had my eye on, mainly because of what came with it. I ended up ordering the Breakfast burger along with French fries ($3.37 for a regular, their smallest size) because the onion rings were already out. Bummer. Food came and I literally took 5 minutes talking pictures, vine videos, snapchat pics of my burger and fries because it looked so pretty! The burger looked deceivingly small but you have no idea how intense the flavor and texture was of that burger. I definitely made a good choice. It's a burger with 2 long crispy bacon strips, a fried egg, the burger patty, and a crispy hashbrown underneath! I've tried a variety of specialty burgers in my lifetime but this was definitely out of the ordinary and amazing! It's definitely a great burger with brunch, served with my mimosa but at least this place serves beer on draft or bottles! Nice! Oh and the fries were good too.. Wasn't soggy but just the right amount of crispy. It was nice for my first visit. Thank you! :)

Wow. Just wow. How have I not discovered this chain sooner??? My boyfriend and I both got the breakfast burger which has hashbrowns and a fried egg on top, and a side of their parmesan fries. Holy smokes, the fries were amazing! The portions are huge, I would say a regular fries would be enough for 3-4 people to share. Also definitely try the strawberry lemonade! Just the right amount of sweet and sour!

The first time I had the Breakfast All Day Burger, it wasn't much to rave about. I decided to give it another go recently and highly enjoyed it. The maple syrup drizzle's flavor really came through. The onions rings are massive and delicious. (The seasoning in the breading for them sets them apart.) I'd also recommend their milkshakes. They're a bit pricey, but delicious and thick. The food is prepared quite fast. The staff is attentive and the atmosphere is appealing. I'm ducking them a star due to the inconsistency with the cooking of patties. I definitely recommend it if you're looking for a quick bite to eat.

The veggie burger is surprisingly great with a crisp Quinoa patty inside! Next time, I'm gonna try the massive onion rings! Update: Tried the Onion rings.. I think I'll go back to fries next time.

Full discolsure - I am a full-fledged Bobby's Burger Palace fan, so I judge every other burger joint against that standard. Now, on with the review of BurgerFi. I ordered the single burger with cheese, bacon and burger sauce and an order of salt and vinegar fries. It's easier just to list what was wrong: 1) Very small single burger; so thin that the bacon and other fixings were more robust than the burger patty itself. 2) Unlike Bobby's Burger Palace where they ask how you want your burger (rare, medium rare, etc), this patty was so thin that that option didn't exist. 3) Fries were limp (and I didn't ask for the limp fries that are on the menu) and though I asked for salt and vinegar, they tasted as if they had neither salt nor vinegar on them. This was not a fresh made burger, fries were not crisp, but limp and not at all flavorful. I will say that the pricing was good, but I can spend the same and get a real burger from Bobby's. No competition here.

Burger Fi just dropped another star in my estimation because of poor customer service. Immediately after posting my initial two star review, I was contacted via Yelp by a person who identified himself as Burger Fi's Customer Care Coordinator - I have intentionally withheld his name. He wrote, "We'd like the opportunity to speak with you more about your visit and to make things right. If you wouldn't mind, please e-mail your telephone number and availability to WeCare@BurgerFi.com , and a team member will happily follow-up with you." I was impressed with this display of concern for a customer who had a less than satisfactory experience. So, I immediately responded. That was on May 14, ten days ago. No response from Burger Fi. In the end, I am left to believe that the initial response was just pro forma boiler plate. For shame!

Presentation is always sloppy but the meat is so flavorful that is really the only reason I go. The Parmesan and herb fries are yummy too I just wish they had more sauces other than ketchup and mustard for said fries(maybe some sriracha hybrid??) . My boyfriend loves their onion rings, they're always crunchy and not soggy like most places. Always "alternative style" your burger aka their try at animal style. Definitely not 'in n out' taste but a nice effort. Appreciate the Ecofriendly theme too

Really good burgers, decent fries but it still can't beat five guys. If your in the downtown Silver Spring area stop in, you wont be disappointed

If the fries weren't so good, I wouldn't have rated as high. Five guys has nothing to worry about.

Not much would make me return. If i had a choice of Burgerfi or ChickFilA... I would not be having a burger. This is Five Guys weird cousin. You choose your base burger (with or without cheese or vegi or whatever) then you get 2 free toppings. I added cry and fries to my order (onion rings and fries) and a draft beer. None this made my meal memorable. My girlfriend said that that the fries were salty and she also had a burger that was "Green Style" (wrapped in lettuce) that fell apart. Like I said nothing major just another burger joint.

Stopped here with some friends for some late night food, and maybe a beer to finish off a great night. First off, for those of you unfamiliar with the place, BurgerFi is kind of like if Smashburger and Five Guys had a baby. Long story short, the end result is a burger joint that has halfway decent burgers, has generous sides, but charges a bit more than average. My late night meal consisted of their "BurgerFi Burger" (a pretty standard burger) which was about $6, I believe - and a bottle of beer from a local brewery, which actually ended up costing more than the burger. The food came out pretty quickly, and the burger wasn't very greasy, which I appreciated. Flavorwise, it was a fairly standard burger, and while not really "tiny", wasn't really huge either. Keep in mind, this is one of those places who cook all their burgers to the same doneness, which is "brown all the way through", so don't expect something oozing in juices. Along with the beer, my late night noshing came to about $13. Not horrible, although a little extra something would have been nice - either that, or lower the cost of that beer; $7 for a bottle of lager is a little crazy. My friend got the "breakfast all day" burger which looked real great - I'd probably go for something a little different next time. Not bad, and a solid option for a burger if you're in the area. Lower the prices by a buck or two, and I'd be here constantly. Well, I would be if I lived in the area, at least.

Really wanted to like this place! It's convenient to my house, looks pretty & clean and the menu seemed fun. Customer service was super friendly and attentive at the register as well. I ordered the breakfast burger & salt & vinegar fries. The shakes looked great, but I wasn't in the mood, others seemed to enjoy them. Burger: thin, thin, thin. tasted like a frozen patty with no seasoning. They also only cook burgers medium well & well which is... Weird. I love my burgers medium rare. The cheese was meh, the fried egg was meh, the potato patty chuck was meh & the bun was incredibly sweet, damn near desert like. I had to take the potato patty off a few bites in, it felt like a mush sandwich. I've had better burgers from Checkers & Im not a fast food burger stand. Fries: I assumed salt and vinegar fries was inductive of a sort of special seasoning. Nope! Just an upcharge for salty fries and a small container of vinegar. What a waste. By no means am I a cheap diner. I would have gladly paid the $17 I paid here plus some for a solid, juicy, flavorful burger & fries elsewhere. Back to fudruckers i go. Such a shame, the cashier at Fi was infinitely more friendly. 2 stars for good service & the coke fountain

Came after a fencing event with teammates. I had the Breakfast Burger which was everything I could have wanted and totally negated all the calories burned in the National Qualifier fencing event for the Capitol Division. But who cares! The burger was good, and I might have to have a second one just to verify it was good. So why 4 stars? Well, the order of onion rings was way too small and the order of fries was way too big. Still going to have to go back again.

The signature Burgrfi angus burger is very juicy and cooked to a medium doneness, just like most gourmet hamburgers. But at around seven bucks, this place can be a bit pricy

This newcomer is a welcome addition to Downtown Silver Spring, but a fast food burger joint right next door to a gym? That's pure evil. Healthy? No. Locally sourced and environmentally friendly? Yes. Yes. I was prepared to not like their VegeFi Burger, but I loved it! It's on the small side, but it's only $5.97; two dollars cheaper than BGR's. There's a bigger difference between the two other than price. BGR's is made from brown rice, black beans and molasses. BurgerFi uses quinoa and tops it with a [thin] slice of white cheddar. It's juicy, like five napkins juicy. On to the fries. Are they trying to kill me?! I forgot my camera phone at home, but I am sure someone will eventually post a pick of these. I ordered a regular (small) portion of their "Secret Menu" Urban Fries. (They're not really a secret, as it's listed on the menu board.) What I got was enough to feed a family of four. I kid... really just enough to satisfy two. Only order these if you are prepared to share. The Urban Fries are laced with Parmesan and herbs, and drizzled with a garlicky aioli sauce. Who doesn't love aioli sauce. I just like typing aioli. They're delicious, but I barely made a dent. I just ate the top layer that were covered in...aioli sauce. Remember what your Kindergarten teacher taught you: It's nice to share. There's one long wooden (communal?) table and about thirteen 4 seater square tables, along with window seating. They bumped back to entrance to make room for covered outdoor seating in the nice weather. Not much of a view, but still nice. It wasn't too busy around 1pm on a Saturday, but people started filtering in. I imagine if it were packed it would be extremely noisy in here. The music was blaring: something between what you'd hear in an Urban Outfitter meets H&M kind of place. I'm sure this place will be a hit. It's not your cheapest option in DTSS, but it's a smart one.

I tried the veggie burger and it was pretty tasty. I tried the secret sauce which was good. I never had a quinoa veggie burger I will definitely be back. The fries were good too! This place is on the pricey side FYI. The also have the super soda coke machine.

My boyfriend, brother, and I came on a Saturday evening. The place wasn't too busy and we were helped as soon as we walked to the counter. My boyfriend ordered the all day breakfast burger, my brother got a cheese burger with bacon and I got a cheese burger with a fried egg and we got a side of fries. Our orders came out at a decent time, we didn't have to wait long to pick it up. My boyfriend said his burger was okay, my brother liked his burger and ate the whole thing (he doesn't usually finish his food) and I didn't find my burger to be anything special. All the burgers come with their "secret sauce". I wasn't very fond of it because it has relish and I don't like relish, but no complaints from my boys. For the price of the burgers I think I would've enjoyed my burger from somewhere else more. This place reminds me of a dressed up mix of Shake Shack (hit or miss for me) and Five Guys (not a fan) but just less greasy than Five Guys. The facility was clean and very spacious, and I like the seating variety (inside, outside, booth, tables, high tables) The staff was very helpful, being it was our first time there the girl that took our order was patient and answered our questions and gave suggestions. I would return only if my boys wanted to but it's not a place I would crave for.

I had a cheese burger with Swiss. It was okay, not juicy enough... over cooked & not enough fat ( I am happy that the cashier said they were 100% beef). I had the fry onion ring mix which was good. The fries are very similar to 5 guys which is closer to my house but the onion rings are good. The star is of the meal was actually the drinks. My favorite fountain machine which has every soda and the wonderful strawberry lemonade. PS I swear I saw the Denis O'Hare from American Horror Story having a dog.

I went today 1/22/2014 and they said this was their official first day open to the public. I guess family and friends of employees had been trying it out before today. We've been waiting and hope. I love that Silver Spring finally has a burger place. I really like that this place has a lettuce wrap option on the menu - they won't look at you like you have 3 heads if you ask for it. Nice for people who aren't big grain fans. I have heard this place called Fake Shack, and while I don't disagree, I don't think Shake Shack has a monopoly on selling burgers and shakes with quality ingredients. The employees were very friendly and helpful. They use grass-fed, grain finished beef. They passed out mocha shake samples while we were there - so yummy. Good balance of chocolate and coffee. The onion rings were enormous (see photo) and had a thick batter on them. Fries were very good. Burger was very good and simple as well. I really like this place. They serve wine and beer. I wish they had a cider or some mixed drink options. The only reason it didn't get five stars is because it was their first real day so I feel like other days might not be like this, and it was not without confusion or a bit of a wait. But I enjoyed it very mush and I think they will hit their stride very soon.

Awesome burgers and fries. The beer selection is small and pricey. If you're looking for a large craft beer selection to enjoy with a burger, this might be a second choice. Orders for two for burgers, large fry, and two beers was 32 dollars. But it was worth it, food was awesome. Will definitely frequent here.

2 stars because my favorite color is green and that's their accent color! The burgers aren't anything to brag over . It's like a stockier elevation burger with out any flavor ( I think both burgers joints lack taste) but only annoying thing about these burgers...THEY'RE MUSHY ! Yuck face ! Who likes a mushy burger? I orders the breakfast type burger minus the maple syrup..not a fan of sweet foods. And it was just mushy and weird! It's was a flavor less but good bcuz I like the combination of toppings for the burger. My friend had a dbl Bacon cheese ; he finished it with ease like it was a mere back yard BBQ pattie. And the fries are fresh cut ...but every place is doing that..I mean it had no personal zest to catch any interest. We just weren't thrilled at all.

My girlfriend and I placed a pretty basic order here...two burgers, two milkshakes, and a large fry. When the order finally came out, they only gave us two burgers. After having to point out the numerous missing items on the receipt that THEY KEEP to track the order, it took nearly ten more minutes to wait for the rest of our order to actually be made, and the fries were burnt. Further, this place is clearly mismanaged.... the staff was not only scrambling to fix our order, but multiple other parties' orders as well. To compensate us, they gave us a $5 off coupon...the catch? I have to spend at least $15 just to use it. Nothing like being told, "To make up for your horrible experience, we'll give you a discount if you spend plenty more here". Never again, Burger-Fi.

  • Brittany S.

I didn't think BurgerFi was spectacular. Especially since my burger fell apart on me and the lettuce wrap got soggy. My burger dripped of grease, I could feel my arteries clogging with every bite. The fries were incredibly salty; the ones that missed the salt shower were actually pretty good. The server was a little rude and rushed me even though there was nobody behind us. I do like that they serve beer (limited choices) The outside is nice but the music was so loud I couldn't hold a conversation. They didn't seem to have a lot of options and usually at a burger place they would have signature burgers or burgers they make their way, but pretty much you start with a burger and pick your own toppings. Overall not extremely impressed. For a little drive into the city, Black and Orange has much better burgers!

  • Mindula F.

I had a veggie burger and I think it was called the VeggieFi burger? It was okay, the quinoa patty wasn't crisp as they said it was. The toppings and bun were good. Probably the best thing about the meal was the fries, it was a good portion and they were crispy and potatoey and just plain good. I'll probably go again because Veggie burgers are hard to find and BurgerFi serves up a decent one. And I'll probably try their raved onion rings next time. Decors pretty good, it's a bit hipster and they play the usual mopey bands. You could sit outside but the traffic made me deaf so I do not recommend. They do have a huge 10 winged fan so you won't sweat if you sit outside.

First Burger Fi experience: Pretty awesome can't complain, I'm a vegetarian, so I tried there quinoa burger, and I must say I'm not a big fan on quinoa but this one was pretty freaggin good. The bun was grilled which gave the burger a great charbroiled taste. The fries were alright a bit greasy for me, but they did the job. I had my daughter with me so I purchased a small custard, I ended up eating 80% of it (don't judge me lol). Customer service was awesome food was awesome and the over all establishment was very clean and inviting.

2.5 stars. This place is an okay substitute since no Five Guys or Z are around, and the commitment to grass fed beef, etc. is a plus. However, the burger, as mentioned by others, is thin, and the sad little piece of lettuce and wimpy tomato were lackluster--disappointment. Fries were tasty, for sure--as good as Five Guys or Z but no better, though. The other plus is the craft beer and wine, so less fast food (in feel) than the others. But it's a burger place that touts the quality and care of the burgers, and they are just not that great.

First time visit. Unfortunately, I can't discuss the food because I found the staff to be the weakest link. Save for the lovely young cashier who'd, apparently, just punched in for work? The three employees in the back/grill area were absolutely uninterested in even PRETENDING that they cared about quick, polite service. Some may suspect this is "young" spot/eatery. It's not or, at least, not only that (in fact, the cashier seemed the youngest and most eager and professional; the customers were surprisingly older; maybe it was the time of day). Only the cashier evidenced interest in, e.g., quickness or customer concern; when she was waiting for them to fill my order, she walked outside to check on the outdoor diners and clear items from a table. The restaurant was not filled, not even close; they were not filled with customers. Specifically; it was Friday, March 28, just before/around 3:30 pm, a LOVELY hour and calm before the "date night"/"It's the weekend!" storm. I won't speak highly of this place to others (I live in the area), not when there are interesting new and faithful old restaurants with REALLY GOOD customer service mere steps away (including even Whole Foods). And please note: I'd called in my order for pickup, waited a bit before picking it up, and walked over at a leisurely pace. When I arrived? I waited as time passed with zero information or apology. I finally asked the cashier if I should cancel my order and how much longer would it take? She was told that they needed to fry fries. Oh. Their service is poor. I'm sorry to learn this; I was so interested in trying them and bringing friends and neighbors back. Not now. Maybe I'll edit this re: the food once my disappointment subsides. EDITED TO ADD: The food was tasty; wow. If you're willing to deal with the service? The food may help.

I work right down the street from Burger-Fi so I obviously had to visit for lunch one (OK, maybe two) times since they opened several weeks ago. I ordered from their (not so) secret menu on my first visit. There are styles listed so you actually have to indicate which burger you want with which style, i.e., the 1 patty burger (which has a name that I don't remember), Supreme style. Except the 'insert name of the 1 patty burger' also comes with toppings but I guess it doesn't if you order a certain style... It was a tad confusing, both for me and the girl who took my order. The burger was pretty good, but nothing too amazing. The fries were tasty, but definitely plan to share a regular size with 2-3 people. We ended up with way too much! During our meal, we were approached by two managerial types who handed out coupons and talked to us about how they use all natural ingredients. We also got free frozen yogurt samples. While I didn't order any libations (it was a work day, after all), I noticed they carried a variety of beer and wine. On our second visit, I ordered a two-patty burger and added toppings to avoid the confusion. It ended up being a little bland and really greasy. I split the Urban fries (topped with Parmesan, herbs, and aioli) with two coworkers. They were definitely the highlight of the meal. The verdict: The prices are pretty good, and the establishment is nice. I'll definitely be back for lunch since I work nearby, but I don't suspect a lot of people would make this a destination restaurant. I would like the burgers to be a tad less greasy and a little more flavorful as well.

Good atmosphere. Mediocre burgers. Too Expensive. 2 smallish fast food style burgers and an order of fries sets you back $20?!? You have got to be kidding me. If you want to pay that much, get a much better burger at Scion for about the same amount (or less on Burger Tuesdays when Scion offers it's signature burgers at half price). It's a MUCH better burger (actual Wagu beef). Or if you want the BEST burger in DC, just go to Quarry House and spend $14 on 2 delicious mouthwatering bundles of cheesy meaty perfection (as long as you are ok with QH's basement divey-ness)!

Update: They just got my order wrong again after a 25 minute wait. This place really had mediocre burgers at best. They are over priced and the service is slow. The first time we came here, they got our order wrong. The second time, we waited 25 minutes for two burgers. Get your burgers somewhere else.

First time visit here and I do not think I will be back. For what I paid for a burger and fries, I expected better tasting burger. Even on an hungry stomach, the taste was still sub-par. The service also by the staff was not exactly appealing to make me want to go back. Nothing necessarily bad about the burger, just for the price, I have had way better in the DC area. Elevation Burger and Shake-Shack definitely taste better.

I'm a big fan of BurgerFi. It's somewhat similar to Good Stuff Eatery, or if you're from the Boston area, it's also like B.Good. I love me some burgers, and now that I have cancer my options are drastically limited as to where I can eat (due to hormones and antibiotics in most meat). BurgerFi saves the day--all natural beef and fresh ingredients. Nom nom nom. I built my own burger--swiss cheese, grilled onions, and grilled mushrooms. It was perfectly cooked and delicious. The boyfriend got the Breakfast All Day Burger, which is not my cup of tea (eggs on burgers = ick, if you ask me), but he really liked it. They also have the newer Coke machine, where you can create your own flavors if you like. The employees were very friendly and cheerful, and the wait for our burgers wasn't bad at all. Minus one star for the fries--they were very bland. Still, the burger was great and I will definitely be back.

Since BurgerFi is new to the area I had to check it out and compare it to other burger restaurants that are popular in the surrounding area. Yes, the burgers are all natural which is a plus. They have a really nice menu that is customer friendly because they allow you to create your own burger and custards and they have a very unique list of burger toppings, french fry topping and an ultimate list of toppings for custard and sundaes. I ordered a create your own burger which was pretty good, the bun was very fresh and delicious, the burger patty it self was kinda small but tasty (not worth the price). The fries!! they give you enough for 2 people. The prices charged are kinda high, you have to buy everything separate, there are no combos meals lol. But for the rich folks you should be ok! They have good store hours and really nice trendy decor throughout the restaurant.

I placed my order over the phone and was told that my order would be ready in 10 minutes. I showed up at the store 15 minutes after my call and had to wait another half hour for my order. The burger was small, dry and overcooked. The Urban Fries were limp and soggy, they looked as if they just had parmesan dumped on them, and I didn't taste any garlic at all. And the shake gave my daughter a stomach ache. I was expecting something like Smashburger, but I was sorely disappointed. I won't be going back.

Service gets five stars. Changed my order after I got the buzzer and they changed it up without a hitch. Friendly and sweet. All ten of them behind the counter. The burgers were below average though. The bread and veggies were good, but the meat was dry. The half onion bowls that were supposed to be rings were a mess and the fries were just...you know how you have one fry and you keep eating until they're gone?..well not these. I didn't finish them. And I always finish my fries. It's still brand spanking new (less than a week), so I'll probably give them another chance or three cause the servers were so nice and it's so conveniently located. I'll update if and when the food makes it up to the level of the service.

Great burgers, fries, and onion rings. Never had the custard but will try it eventually. Would love to give this place 5 stars but the prices are just too high.

Fresh. They certainly got that one down. My husband and I ventured into Silver Spring last weekend for a mini vacation outside of Baltimore and BurgerFi was right next to our hotel, the Courtyard by Marriott. After having a huge lunch (Big Greek Cafe - be on the lookout for that review) we put off dinner until late and went with convenience. Walking in the restaurant, it looked like your typical casual fast food place - bright, open, and simple, really. It reminded me of Chipotle's themes with the simple furniture. There wasn't a line when we got there and we were able to walk up and order. My husband ordered the cheeseburger and I went with the Kobe Dog Chicago Style. I know what you're thinking - why did you order a dog at a burger joint? Because I was SO full from lunch and what the hell? I like dogs, too. Why not try one at this cool little place we found? I was not disappointed. The dog came out on a fresh and fluffy poppy seed bun and had the works - mustard, onion, the TASTIEST fresh relish I've EVER had, peppers, and a thinly sliced dill spear. All of the toppings were diced in such a way that when you were eating it they didn't go everywhere. It was the cleanest dog I've ever eaten. Honestly, the only thing I wasn't "wowed" by was the Kobe dog itself. I will say that it wasn't greasy which is always a plus. I think next time I'll try the regular beef dog the same style. It's certainly not something that will keep me from going back. The bun and toppings sold me. Oh, but let's not forget about the Cry and Fries - onion rings and french fries. Massive onion rings. MASSIVE! And oh, so, wonderful. I try to stay away from onion rings (and fries, really) when I can because they are so bad for you, but I was vacation, right? Why not?! The fries were plentiful and enough to split between two people. They were fresh cut, not greasy, and scrumptious. The only thing they were missing was the vinegar, and I didn't see a bottle sitting out. I later looked back at the menu and saw that you can order "salt and vinegar" on your fries. Not sure what that means or how amazing that makes them, but I would have liked to see vinegar out at my disposal. The onion rings, as I already mentioned, were huge. They too were fresh, fried to perfection, and not in the least bit greasy. I was only able to eat two, though my taste buds really begged for more. After stuffing our faces we glanced at the custard menu and decided to raise the surrender flags. It was too much... I don't think our taste buds could've handled much more awesomeness. Bottom line is this: FRESH food made with free range beef, fast service, varied menu, and good location. And if you want to TRY and be good going there they have their calories listed online which, for me, is pretty awesome because even when I eat poorly (i.e. two massive onion rings I couldn't resist that were so worth it by the way), I still like to log it. When in Downtown Silver Spring and in search of a fast but quality place to eat, check out BurgerFi. You won't be disappointed.

Love it!!! 5 guys was our go to for an inexpensive and delicious burger. 5 guys is still great, but we like burgerfi even better!!!! Awesome burgers, quick even when crowded. Perhaps better than the burgers is the ability to get a decent glass of wine and a good beer!!

The burgers are yummy, and you can taste that they are made from quality ingredients. The Vegfi (quinoa burger) and cheeseburger are delicious. DO NOT get the fries, unless you enjoy salty cardboard of course...

We came in for a late lunch/early supper on a Saturday afternoon. The service at the counter was excellent. Keven (yes with an "e"!) was friendly and courteous. I had the regular burger, the Black and White milk shake and I shared an order of fries with my fellow diner. He ordered the Brisket Burger. After placing the order one is given a pager alerting you when the food is ready at the counter. However our counter person was kind enough to bring the food to us. The burgers were excellent. I read in some reviews that they were greasy. I didn't find this to be the case at all. The fries were also not greasy. Unless you have a huge appetite I would recommend sharing the fries. My milk shake was also very good. The Brisket Burger did seem expensive but the other burgers in my opinion were reasonably priced. We will definitely return.

I work in the downtown silver spring area. This location took so long to open and had much anticipation, but to be honest it is slightly underwhelming to me. Service is cool, but I have definitely had better burgers for that price. Slightly on the expensive side. The branding on the bun is cool too, but if you want an awesome burger try shake shack.

Great burgers, fair prices. And most importantly, the staff was very helpful and friendly. I witnessed them graciously handle a disgruntled customer with extremely unreasonable expectations (she wanted the staff to temporarily watch her children as she ran out...what?). I really recommend the breakfast burger. It's amazing how the maple and bacon work with the beef.

ONION RINGS. Some of the best in town. "nuf said. Oh, and the hamburgers, although somewhat small are fantastic. Love the odd selection of soft drinks.

Service is what made this a two. So I arrived and waited at the counter. Stood there for 9 minutes while the one counter person was working to make shakes (she was working) however the four other employees were laughing and playing around having fun. I almost left. The burger was actually ok. It's no five guys but it was ok. I wasn't impressed with the fries I guess I can say I've tried it. But I wouldn't go back. Not the "wow" I expected.

Would be 5 stars if the staff seemed more interested in serving people. The cashiers are nice enough, but the numerous staff preparing the food are too busy socializing to actually get your food ready quickly. Last time I was there, a manager actually snapped his fingers to get his employee to pay attention and get my order together. But the food is great, and fills a gap in Silver Spring. The burgers and fries are as good as or better than Five Guys, but the service is always good at Five Guys -- usually with fewer staff than BurgerFi has. Parking is tough for BurgerFi, but if you're in the area, try it.

Went for lunch last week. It's impossible to write about BurgerFi without comparing it to Shake Shack since the former is a wanton copy of the latter. The burgers taste similar and are presented identically with wax paper half wrappers, served on metal trays just like in Shake Shack, and the decor is quite similar as well. I didn't taste the ice cream, but it appears conceptually identical to the Concretes at the Shack. One of BurgerFi's "innovations" is it's Bonanza-like (the show, not the restaurant) branding of it's buns w/ the BurgerFi logo. Amusing. All in all, pretty good burgers and BurgerFi's fries beat those at ShackShack. So this review is really 4 stars for food quality and 1 star for originality.

Went there for dinner last night. The burgers were good. Well cooked and juicy, but they seemed a little small. I do not usually base my feelings about meals on serving size. I find that many places give too much food. I did like the aioli topping, it was a nice twist. I would say that BGR patties are a little better. The onion rings on the other hand were huge and excellent. Nicely cooked, crunchy, toothsome and not too greasy. My friend and I were trying to figure out how big the onion that they came from must have been. We grabbed a seat outside, and had a good time. A little noisy for me, but that's true of most places.

Slow, difficult and overpriced for great tasting burgers. I've gone here twice now, and it's the food that brought me back. I'm vegetarian, and the quinoa burger is absolutely delicious. Sadly enough, ordering one is awfully convoluted. I'd love to be able to simply say I want a veggie burger, and what I want on it. I don't understand the mentality to, "We have a [whatever] burger, and this is what comes on it..." and then you have to say, well, don't include these, replace this, and add these other things. ARGH! Also, the employees I've encountered are wildly uninterested in providing good customer service. (Sadly, this may just be a Silver Spring thing-Nandos, I'm talking about you.) There always seem to be more than enough people when I come after main lunch hours just sauntering about, wiping things off and trying to do their best to ignore the customers. The first time I ordered, it took forever to get the burger. Then, the second time, I called ahead-but still had to wait for them to get it ready! I wish these guys would take a page from Elevation Burger (or if we could just get one, that would be great) whose M.O. seems to be fast, friendly, and EASY service.

I've been to BurgerFi twice so far. We went first on their opening night, which was absolutely fantastic, and then again last week towards closing. I'm giving an average of 4 stars because the first visit garnered 5 stars from me, while the second was 3 stars. First visit: Everyone was super friendly. There was quite a line, so it took a little bit to be able to order, but I certainly couldn't fault them for that. I ordered a beer, burger, and fries. I LOVE that this is a nice burger joint that I can order a beer in! Food took about ten minutes to come out, and the beer was brought to my table beforehand. The amount of fries they give you is ridiculous. Assume you can share! The food was great, and the atmosphere was fun. Second visit: We came in near closing time, so of course I was not surprised that the place was mostly empty. There was only one cashier, and it looked like most of the staff was in the kitchen (probably starting to get things teared down for the night). My husband and I each ordered a burger, drinks (beer, milkshake, and a soda), and we ordered their medium-sized fries off the "Secret Menu". Cashier seemed like she didn't want to be there (but hey, it's end of the night and I get that), and we had to repeat our order a couple times. It took about fifteen minutes for our food to be ready. When food arrived, our fries were wrong, so I sent them back (after looking at our receipt, which we had forgotten to check earlier, the cashier had input them wrong, even after we had to tell her multiple times). Luckily the manager stepped in at this and got us squared away. He was very nice. It took another ten minutes for the correct fries to come back, and they seemed to give us extra for the trouble. The food was absolutely fantastic, and we just -barely- were able to finish the fries. Tasty, but keep in mind their fry portions are HUGE. In general, I really enjoy this place. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere isn't bad, and it's a burger joint that servers beer. I'm hoping it was an off night, but I see several other reviews of wrong orders on here as well, so I'm wondering how much the cashiers are actually paying attention. Two words of advice: 1) Check your receipt as soon as you get it to verify it was rung up correctly. 2) Unless you're ordering for the entire table, NEVER order bucket-sized fries. It's an entire try of fries!!!

Oh my goodness they did it again! Phenomenal burger and fries. The staff here continues to rock! The prices are a bit high but they're on par with other premium burger joints in the area. This place is Burger Fi: Must Try. Yah baby!

A truly great burger. Very filling, and really has that grease pit burger flavor, which I love. I also love their fries with the hot Cajun spiced. Super delicious. While there are a few choices in Silver Spring for burgers, this is never a bad choice.

On a nice day like today a green style burger followed with a coffee mocha shake is easily the best way to spend it... If you haven't tried the green style I highly recommend it!

I've been here once, a day or two after they opened. The wait was reasonable and the place was very clean. Prices are a bit higher than what I would like to pay for a burger, but the burgers are cooked well and taste great. I believe I had the classic BurgerFi Burger (or something like that - it was the least expensive burger on the menu), along with onion rings. The onion rings are HUGE. The staff seemed very friendly and came around with samples of their frozen custard and some grand opening coupons. I'd probably go again, but can't sustain spending $11-$12 (or more) on lunch very often. That being said, this is on par price-wise with Fuddruckers, which is only a block or so away, but the burgers at BurgerFi are much much better.

I got a Burger Fi cheese burger witch was great and some onion rings witch were also really good. But the best part was the customer service. It was busy (lunch rush) but one of the managers I believe his name was Abel was fantastic! He asked me if I have ever been here before and how my day was. I explained to him how it was my first time here! He started recommending things I might like .. To help me pick. The food was amazing but the customer service was even better! Thanks Abel!

Meh. I was excited to hear about a new burger place close to my office. We used to go to Fuddruckers and to be honest I'm not a huge fan. Unfortuantely, I was pretty disappointed by the burgers here. Although the ingredients seemed fresh, they tasted a little fast-foody. Now maybe that is the point of this place but the price does not match the quality. That said, the place was very clean, quick, and had great staff. I just would like to see a bit more quality in the ingredients. But at this point, I rate it on the same level as a 5 guys or Fuddruckers.

I really, really, wanted to like this place. A burger place downtown with outdoor seating - what could be wrong?! Well, crazy overpriced burgers that are the size of a McDonald's Egg McMuffin, for starters. I tried this place because I like to support local businesses but won't ever go back after spending $9.00 on the slider sized "burger" I had. Burger Tap & Shake in the District, Nation's, and In-n-Out (both from my native CA) are FAR superior at a much better price. I give this place two years or so tops with these ridiculous prices. Oh, and for the outdoor seating "ambiance" - if you like the sound of the local's blasting their horns at the intersection of Fenton and Wayne - this place is for you. For me, no thanks...

Overpriced for half size burgers. Not a bad taste but the price to proportion ratio is way off

  • Victoria S.

Not bad, not great. We tried the cheeseburger and the veggie burger. Both were quite bland. If we come back I would get the veggie patty again - it was similar to falafel - but would probably load it up with spicy toppings to give it some flavor. Texture was great, though. The burger was just kinda bland. We got a small chocolate ice cream as well. Again, not bad but pretty bland. A small was more than enough for my husband and I. It's pretty heavy. We didn't try the fries but saw someone throw theirs out - not a good sign. We might come back, but will probably prefer Elevation Burger. All for the humane meats, though, so an extra star for that!

I confess that I first heard about the Silver Spring location of Burger Fi through one of the local Washington D.C. radio stations. I ate there last Saturday and had a breakfast all day burger with parmesan seasoned fries. Reluctantly, I also admit that I had the red velvet concrete as a dessert and a vanilla rootbeer drink for the meal. What I did eat of the food was very good, but obviously I did not finish it all. My husband had the brisket burger, onion rings, and the regular rootbeer. The customer service here is also excellent. Truthfully, I would probably eat here more often if I did not have to always closely regulate what I eat.

First time I went. I was greeted graciously by someone who then I found out was the manager... Jeff and the cook zenia actually spent time on making recommendations.. Seriously the customer service was amazing ... And so was the food... Because of them. I will be a burger fi customer forever.

Burger Fi is an okay place. I enjoyed there urban style fries that have parmesan cheese on top. Burgers are regular, thin patties. The quality is decent but don't expect anything fancy. It can get pricey.

I can't rave about this place enough!! Their vegefi burger is t'-die-for. Next thing on my list to try is one of their shakes.

Not bad, decent fries, good onion rings, nice beer selection but the burgers are overcooked and dry (they only cook them well done... ?? Clearly a breakage of the cardinal rule of Good beef!!!) And who charges for vinegar for your fries???? Going back to 5guys!

  • Justin S.

I do like a good burger and fries, even though I don't eat them that often, and wanted to try the new place downtown for a while. The burger was quite good, comparable to a place like Elevation and probably as good as Five Guys or Good Stuff, say. Lots of topping options, although I got mine pretty basic. Fries are large and a regular was more than enough for two of us. They're hand-cut and fairly crispy, which is a something I can never seem to get at Five Guys. Service was a little meh and slow, but not a huge problem.

    (4)
  • John S.

Have tried it twice; once on weekend, today at lunch. The burgers were excellent; as were the shakes. On the down side, both times service was slow; there was a line to place the order, and the line moved slowly. If you order a shake, you end up waiting again even after they buzz you that you order is ready. And the prices are a bit high. I am quite familiar with Five Guys and Elevation; like both also, but the service is always good at both. I hope that BurgerFi will improve the service. I'll be back because overall, things are quite good.

Very disappointed. Was excited to see a new place in silver spring so we gave it a shot. The place was nearly empty at 6pm and was told our order would take 6-8 minutes. The price seemed fair. Nearly 30 min later we got our food. The fries were cold and soggy without any flavor or salt. My girlfriend got a single burger and I got the burgerfi cheeseburger. They were both cold. The meat was overcooked and very dry and tasteless. Also with the exception of the lettuce and tomato any added topping was minimal and almost nonexistent once again adding to the lack of taste. Never again.

Great service. Food is always perfect. And restaurant is impeccable. Also, their have a solid craft beer selection. Only point that bugs me, they seem to follow the "no ranch" hipster trend. Kinda bugs me. Their fries would be sooo much better with ranch...

Atmosphere is great. Ordered a cheeseburger, fries, and a black and white shake. It took about 15 minutes to receive my food (to go). The shake was amazing , it deserves 5 stars. The fries were so-so and the burger was so-so as well. I am willing to give it another try. I don't believe it's worth the somewhat high prices, lucky for me I was able to use the military discount.

i enjoyed the food, but was upset by the service. the cashier took her time to get my order in, even repeated it back to me, but somehow lost the order and entered it incorrectly into their system. i had to get the manager to help me and he was great at getting the food out to us immediately once he was alerted to the missing order. there was also great service provided by the person running the food orders. i would return, but if my order gets messed up again in the future, i think i would end my relationship with this venue.

Yet another 5 Guys clone. The burgers are almost identical to 5 Guys, but more expensive. Fries are "over filled" like 5 Guys, so save some money by sharing. I ordered the "Fries well done" from the "secret" menu, and they looked identical to the fries I saw others eat, and tasted identical to regular 5 Guys fries. Dunno if they cost me more. They were good fries, but I was hoping for something a little crispier than regular, but not so. Also my order took longer than 5 Guys. I hate those new Coke dispensers, but I guess I'll have to get used to them since they are appearing everywhere. Oh, one thing better than 5 Guys: the buns, which keep their shape and flavor.
